Encounter with a Vampire
A downloadable asset pack
The idea is that the character - a vampire hunter, perhaps - finds the vampire roaming in the ruins, out of the boss room.
The vampire appearance is inspired by a Sargent painting, Portrait of Lady Helen, and I really like the idea of a vampire drinking wine while upside down.
The hunter uses one of Buffy’s outfits.
The text is a JoJo reference.
I was really running out of time for this jam, I thought I wouldn’t be able to finish in time and gave up. But then I thought, when will I have another chance to participate?

This looks great! The upside-down vampire is inspired. The white outline off the portrait is very effective!
Thanks! I thought the outline was necessary, even with the simple background. If I were to do it again, I would like to try an isometric perspective for the background, but it may be hard to draw an upside down character this way…
I think it'd work fine as an isometric piece - worst case it might just look like the vampire is hanging off right on the edge rather than in the middle of the ceiling. But I don't think that would even be noticed by anyone seeing the composition for the first time :)
